Coach Preston Pedersen is in his eighth year of coaching football at Mount Vernon and is also the Strength and Speed coach for the Mustangs.

His purpose statement is to engage, educate, and empower students to pursue excellence, lead with integrity, and positively impact the world.
 

Coach Pedersen is a graduate of Northwest Missouri State University where he studied Health & Physical Education and played football for the Bearcats. After receiving his bachelor's degree, Coach Pedersen continued his education at Northwest while accepting a Strength & Conditioning graduate assistantship. Coach Pedersen worked with many different sports but stayed very active with football, traveling with the team and helping with sideline operations.

Coach Pedersen and his wife, Emily, have two boys, Jayce and Nash.

Mount Vernon Football is more than just a sport. It is a family of Mustangs on a mission to be the best version of themselves. I love the opportunity to invest in our young men and help them on their journey.
